In the future it will eventually happen, and it WILL be a rescue dog (from a shelter).Heatherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15403955482520442077noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8463832956830525523.post-33269617491644244872008-03-30T19:13:00.000-04:002008-03-30T19:13:00.000-04:00Oh, and Debbie, I understand what you mean about J...Oh, and Debbie, I understand what you mean about Jilly. When I saw how in love with my mother's kitten Katie is, I thought about getting her a kitten, but the more I have the kitten over at my house, the more I am certain that Katie is just not ready for a kitten. She hasn't gotten the concept of how to not carry a kitten by the neck.Melodiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17597822422886281763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8463832956830525523.post-32891486150756053842008-03-30T19:11:00.000-04:002008-03-30T19:11:00.000-04:00Debbie,They said at the shelter that because of so...Debbie,
They said at the shelter that because of so many people losing their houses lately, they have had a lot more people giving up their animals because they are either living in their cars or have had to move into an apartment that doesn't accept animals.
I didn't check all of the animals for the reasons why they were given up, but I did check Token's paperwork and he was given up because he was too hyper. They also said that a lot of people turn in their pets because they didn't do their research to know how big they'd get or how much attention they would need before getting them, and then they just decide that the animal is too big or too hyper to keep.Melodiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17597822422886281763noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8463832956830525523.post-71549220000232650142008-03-30T19:03:00.000-04:002008-03-30T19:03:00.000-04:00We are contemplating getting a puppy but I am lear...We are contemplating getting a puppy but I am leary with the way Jillian sometimes acts....Eventually, yes, but she (meaning Jilly) has been through so much since before the holidays, I am not ready to feel that I need to teach her how to act with a new addition to the household...Might sound lazy or selfish, but eventually I will be in the mindset to take care of a dog....But it is so heartbreaking to see those little faces and know that circumstances (I hope) had resulted in the owner not being able to keep their animal....Debbiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05022109058685695409noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8463832956830525523.post-60418824051942297492008-03-30T11:20:00.000-04:002008-03-30T11:20:00.000-04:00Uh, that is JUST heartbreaking. We aren't even nearly ready for another dog yet but in a few years we will and we'll definitely be going to the Humane Society or SPCA
AndreaWorking Mamahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00945906964128149410noreply@blogger.com
