I had to get up early this morning so I could take my mother to her dermatologist appointment at 8:45.
Then she dragged me shopping all over the mall where I learned that it is impossible to keep track of both my mother and Katie at the same time.
Because we were at the mall, Katie missed her nap and was exceptionally whiny for the rest of the day.
I had to go to the girls' school this evening to have conferences with a couple of Emily's teachers.
I met Emily's geography teacher tonight, and I don't like her.
I'm going to sleep now to try to get rid of this headache before my birthday tomorrow.
If Phil really loves me, he'll have an ice cold Coca-Cola waiting for me when I wake up.

Third Time's the Charm
My mother and step-father got married for the third time Friday night at my house. No, it wasn't her third marriage or his third marriage; It was the third time they married each other.
It was a very small ceremony, but very sweet. My mother wasn't planning to dress up, but I told her that what she was planning to wear wasn't good enough. I wanted to shop with her for a new dress, but she said she didn't have time. So, I ended up letting her borrow my wedding gown.
Here are some photos from the wedding and dinner party following.
My step-dad and brother/Best Man waiting for the ladies.
Katie wore her Christmas dress and was the cutest flower girl ever.

My mom walking into the room.
My BFF Michelle performed the wedding ceremony. This was her first time doing so, and she did a great job.

The happy observers.

The obligatory wedding party photos.

Katie and Julianna were entertaining themselves during the seemingly neverending photo shoot.
All of the grandchildren photos.

Looks like we acquired a few extra children here. The "extra" children are my God-daughter, Julianna, and my neighbor-daughter, Eryn.
And here's the happy couple with the lady who married them, Michelle.
Their first dance as a thrice married couple.

And last, but not least, the wedding cake from Hell.

Why was it the wedding cake from Hell? Because it was completely and totally W-R-O-N-G, WRONG. Do you see that decorative edging around the top edge of the cake? That was supposed to also be around the bottom of the cake. And all of those brightly colored flowers on the top of the cake? Not supposed to be there at all. You probably can't even tell that the cake is supposed to be heart-shaped, can you?
Oh, well... At least it tasted good.
But that doesn't mean I'm going to let Publix get away with ruining my mother's wedding cake!

Update on Mom
Mom was released from the hospital this evening. She's feeling much better now. They're not exactly sure what was causing her chest pains, but they think that maybe she was having heart spasms. They tried a new anti-spasm medication on her last night, but on the lowest dose, it gave her a massive headache, so they decided that she didn't really need it.
They did do another echocardiogram yesterday, and the cardiologist today said that it showed improvement over the one they did when she was in the hospital last month. And they decided that she no longer needed to take one of her water pills that they had her on. So, all in all, it's actually pretty good news today.
Oh, and Katie decided that she really needed some oxygen while we were visiting my mother today. This kid is such a ham!

Back to the Hospital
She's back! Yep, Mom's back in the hospital again. Thankfully, she's nowhere near as sick as she was when she went into the hospital last time.

Mom started feeling some pains in her chest yesterday, so she took her Nitroquick (like her doctor told her to) and they went away. But, a little while later, they came back again, and the Nitroquick didn't help the second time.
So, she called her doctors and they told her to go to the ER to get checked out. Since the ER doctor didn't have a clue what was going on with her, he decided to admit her and have her seen by the cardiologists.
So, the cardiologists decided today to try a new medication on her. Since they don't know how she will react to it, they are keeping her overnight again to see what happens. Hopefully, she'll be released tomorrow.

Mothers Day
Today is Mothers Day. A day to honor mothers. So where was my daughter, Sarah, this morning? Not here. Not serving me breakfast in bed alongside her sisters. She refused to come home from my mother's house last night, with the promise that she would be home first thing this morning. But after waiting for her and eventually giving up on her, Phil, Emily, and Katie, had to go ahead and give me breakfast without her. And, boy, was I hungry by that time!
Besides my eldest daughter not wanting to spend anytime with me, my Mothers Day has turned out quite nicely. We are broke, and the last thing I wanted was for Phil to spend a lot of money on me. Of course, I didn't exactly want to get nothing either. Well, he found the perfect gift for me. He got me a birthstone child charm to represent Katie. I already had one for each of Sarah and Emily, and I had mentioned to him before that I wanted one for Katie, too. So, I ended up getting something I really wanted, without my husband spending a ton of money on me.
Oh, and when Sarah did finally come home, she also came bearing a gift. My mother took her out to buy me a new memory card for my camera. All I had before today was two 16 MB cards, which don't hold many pictures. My new card holds 1 GB, which at my camera's highest pixel setting holds 680 pictures. Woo-hoo! Now, I won't have to worry about running out of space when we are out taking pictures.
