Neighbor News

Do you remember the lovely house next door to mine? It's been vacant since those nasty people got foreclosed on. Well, the house finally sold, and we'll be getting new neighbors as soon as they finish renovating the house. (They are completely gutting the inside of the house and redoing everything.) This is both good news and bad news.

The bad news is that these neighbors do not have young children. Their children are all grown and out of the house. So, that means there will be no new little playmates for Katie.

The good news is that they don't have any punk-ass little teenagers who will want to break in to or vandalize my house. Also, since they are putting so much work and money into renovating the house, they'll probably take better care of the yard than the last people who lived there. Of course, it wouldn't take much effort to do a better job than before, would it?

Finally!

The people who live directly behind my house are FINALLY cleaning their swimming pool. It's been over two years since they've done so. I guess all of those calls to code enforcement and mosquito control are finally paying off. Now, maybe we'll be able to let Katie go out into the backyard to play without slathering her in insect repellant.

Jerks

You know those vomitrocious next door neighbors of mine who got foreclosed on? Guess what those jerks had the nerve to do last night? After not coming anywhere near the property for more than a week, on the night that the bank came to secure the property and post notices, those jerks decided to come back and trespass on what was no longer theirs.

When we heard them pull into the back yard with their big-ass truck, we mistakenly thought that maybe there was something there that they had neglected to take with them and that they wanted to get before it was hauled off to a dump somewhere. Well, they were over there for quite a while and were making a tons of noise with that truck.

We found out today that they were not there to get something left behind. No, when Phil checked out the back yard this morning on his way out to work, he saw that they hadn't taken a thing. What he did find, however, was that what those jerks had been over there doing was tearing up the back yard with their big-ass truck. Yeah, they had been digging huge ruts into the yard with their truck's tires. Isn't that just lovely?

I'm really hoping that they won't come back again. I'm actually kind of scared that they might come back and do something worse, like burn the place down or something.

I knew I should have called the sheriff when they showed up last night!

Happy Birthday to Me

No, it's not actually my birthday. At least not for a few more weeks anyway. But it certainly feels like my birthday, and without all of that I'm so old, I haven't accomplished anything in the past year, depression crap. I feel like celebrating!

Why am I so happy? Remember my lovely next door neighbors? Well, right now, as I am typing out this post, there are representatives from the bank that has foreclosed on them securing the property. Hallelujah! I will never have to put up with those jerks ever again! Woo-hoo!

Please, everyone, say a prayer for me that we get some decent neighbors in there next time. Cross your fingers and toes, too. Thanks.

Not a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

Wouldn't you just LOVE to live next door to this? I know I don't! Sure, it makes for a nice bit of blog fodder, but I'd give it up in a minute to never have to look at this again.

And they keep their back yard just as neat and tidy. This is the view from the sidewalk looking into their backyard through their always open gate.

Aren't those old mattresses and pieces of wallboard leaning up against the fence just LOVELY? I know I just LOVE (smell the sarcasm) looking at them every time I drive by. And those big old tires on the right side of the photo are perfect for breading those little mosquitoes I've come to LOVE so much (little bastards!). Here's a better view of the tires, so you can get the full picture.

Yes, I just LOVE having these people for my next door neighbors! Lucky for me, it looks as though they are moving again (YAY!). Yes, I said again. You see, they weren't making their house payments after refinancing their house for WAY more than it was worth, and they went into foreclosure. They moved out in anticipation of being foreclosed on, and then for some unknown reason, the foreclosure didn't happen, and they moved back in. So, now they have been taking truck loads of their furniture and stuff away again, and Phil said that he doesn't think anyone slept there last night.

So, now we are hoping and praying that they do not come back, and that we'll finally get some decent neighbors there. We're hoping for a nice couple around our age with a couple of well-mannered children, preferably girls. If you or someone you know fits the bill and would like to live in the suburbs of Tampa, please let me know. The house really could be nice with the proper maintenance, and the yard is definitely on the larger side. And of course, there would be the most wonderful next door neighbors imaginable - me and my family! What more could a person want?
