Weekend Update

"... feeling uninspired... think i'll start a fire..."

Ahem. I've got nothing. Nothing new and exciting anyway.

Thursday was the last day of the first quarter of school for Sarah and Emily. I'm not sure how well they did, though. I can access their grades on their school website to see how they are doing, but not all of their teachers have their grades online, and not all of the teachers who do have their grades available online update them regularly. This really bothers me.

There was no school yesterday, but my mother was in town, so I got a break from the girls for a little while. I got caught up on my sleep. Unfortunately, I was wide awake at 4:30 this morning, so now I'm behind again.

I finished reading Eclipse this morning. Now, I can finally start reading Breaking Dawn. I haven't read this much in years. I wonder if I'll keep it up.

Sarah and Emily were supposed to go on a youth group overnight service retreat today. They changed their minds and took a Girl Scout training course to become Program Aides. This will allow them to volunteer for more Girl Scout events, which will eventually make up for the volunteering they missed out on by not going with the youth group.

Tomorrow, I will be teaching my first "real" CCD class at church. I taught the class last week, but it was a last minute decision, so I was not prepared and we just watched Veggie Tales and did crafts. This week we will actually be following a prepared curriculum. Katie is really too young for the class, and she was very ornery last week, so I'm not sure if I will let her attend class with me.

Well, that's about it. I'm off to go read now.

PS: Name the song that quote is from.

End of Summer

Though the weather may not reflect it, summer has officially come to an end. All of our regularly scheduled non-summer activities are starting back up now. Tonight, I took Sarah to her Girl Scout meeting, and Thursday night I'll be taking Emily to hers. My evenings are no longer my own.

My weekends won't be my own for much longer either. Besides the girls having CCD on Sunday mornings, they'll more than likely start having GS field trips on Saturdays, too. Thankfully, we didn't sign Emily up for soccer this year because she plans on being on her school's team, so that's one less weekend activity to deal with this year.
