Time to Relay

Today is the day! Phil just left to take Sarah to her friend's house to get ready for the ACS Relay for Life. The event doesn't actually begin until 1:00 this afternoon, but the team is meeting at one girl's house so they can get all of their equipment they've been storing there and get it to the event site to get set up.

It's not too late to make a tax-deductible donation, so if you'd like to, but just haven't gotten around to it yet, please click on the Relay for Life link over there >>> in my side bar.

Just a Reminder

Sarah will be walking in the local American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in just two short weeks. If you haven't already donated to this wonderful cause, or if you'd like to donate more, please click on the link over in my side bar and do so.

Cancer is a bitch, and we need to kick its butt hard!

Tax Deductions

It's the last day of the year, and you know what that means.... It's the last day to make donations that you can deduct from your 2008 taxes!! I know that none of you want to think about taxes on a day when you are most likely preparing to PAR-TAY all night long, but this will only take you a few minutes.

Here is a short list on my personal recommendations of places to donate your money:

American Cancer Society (via Relay for Life) - help fight the big "C".

All Children's Hospital and/or Children's Miracle Network - help God's precious children in need of medical care.

USO - please support our men and women in uniform who are away from their loved ones.

Now, I know you may think that you can't spare a dime in this economy, but even the smallest donation makes a difference. And if you were the one who needed help from one of these wonderful organizations, wouldn't you want people to donate?

I hope you all have a wonderful end of the year and a bright new year in the morning!

Break the Cycle

Have you noticed that little button over there on my side bar? The one that says "Pink Changing Lives" and shows a picture of a bag with the phrase "Beauty that Counts" on it? Well, if you haven't already, you should click on it and learn all about how Mary Kay helps women's causes all over the world.

One of the causes that Mary Kay is involved in is Break the Cycle. It's an organization dedicated to preventing domestic violence. Break the Cycle is trying to get a law passed that will require domestic violence education in high schools. Currently, only two states have this requirement.

Please click here to sign the online petition. Let's all help Break the Cycle of domestic violence against women.

A Special Thanks

I just wanted to say, "Thank You," from the bottom of my heart to those of you who have made donations to the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life through Sarah's personal webpage. You are wonderful, generous people!

Don't worry, though. Sarah will be sending a personal thanks to each of you herself. I just wanted to thank you all, too.

Help Fight Cancer

My wonderful daughter, Sarah, is participating in the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life in a few months. She is currently trying to raise funds for the fight against cancer. Her personal fundraising goal is $100, but she would love to exceed that goal and help her team reach its goal of $1500.

If you would like to help Sarah out by making a tax deductible donation to the ACS, please click here.
