Loved It

We made it back from the concert a little while ago. We had a pretty great time there. Chris Cornell was AWESOME, as expected. We got to the show shortly before he took the stage and left as soon as his hour-long set was over.

The only issue I had with the show (besides all of the damn smokers) was when one of my favorite songs got ruined by a member of the band Linkin Park. The song, Hunger Strike, is from the Temple of the Dog album, and was recorded with Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder of Pearl Jam dueting.

I guess since Linkin Park was the actual headliner of this Projekt Revolution tour, Chris Cornell thought the fans would enjoy the song with he and the lead singer of LP dueting. I.Did.Not. To me, it was completely blasphemous! Those guys from Linkin Park should feel honored to be sharing the same stage as someone as great and pioneering as Chris Cornell. They will NEVER be in the same league as Chrs Cornell.

Anyhow, on to the photos. Before we get started, I must give you this disclaimer: Our tickets were free. They were not great. But, at least they were seats, and not the lawn.

In this next photo, Chris Cornell is crowd surfing. Towards the end of his set, he thanked the crowd for not only returning him safely to the stage, but for also not swiping his sunglasses while he was out there.

And last, but not least, the obligitory concert t-shirt.

Yay!

I'm sure you all know how much I love free stuff. I mean, really, who doesn't like to get something for nothing?

Phil and I got some free concert tickets for a show tonight. Actually, the event started earlier this afternoon, but the performer we are going to see doesn't go on stage until almost eight o'clock.

Who, you may ask, are we going to see? Only one of the awesomest rock stars of the last couple of decades.

Chris Cornell! He of the Sound Garden, Temple of the Dog, and Audio Slave fame. He's so HOT! I love him.
