Ultrasound #2

Wow! What a difference a couple of weeks makes, huh? My little blob has turned into a baby! Okay, sure, she was a baby before, too, but you can really tell now.

So, obviously, I had another ultrasound this afternoon. This ultrasound was for my nuchal translucency test that looks for signs of chromosomal abnormalities like Downs Syndrome.

I made sure the ultrasound tech knew to look for that subchorionic bleed she found last time, and she said that she couldn't find any bleeds this time. She said that she could clearly see where it was last time, but that everything is cleared up now. That's great news for Phil, if you know what I mean.

We also got to hear the baby's heartbeat this time instead of just seeing it. The heart rate was a good 168 bpm, so we're still thinking she's a girl. Fingers crossed!

Hi, I found your blog through Baby Center and wanted to take a peak! What a great ultrasound picture. She actually lookis like a baby. How far along are you? My ultrasound was at 8 weeks and my baby doesn't quite look like that!

Jenni, I was 11w3d when I had this ultrasound. If you scroll down a few posts, you'll find my ultrasound pic from when I was 9wks. There's a HUGE difference between the two pics.

Holy smokes! Where have I been??? CONGRATULATIONS!

I have a theory-- it's always the opposite of what you feel. You're feeling girl, so I predict boy!

Will you be changing the name of your blog if it turns out not to be a girl?

It's amazing how much changes in just a couple of weeks.
