Road Trip

Today, we made the nearly two hour drive to Tavares, Florida, for my BFF Ann's daughter Alison's first birthday party. Katie was all gung-ho about going to "Baby Alison's" birthday party until we were about an hour into the drive and she decided that she did not want to be in the car anymore. She was sick of the drive and she wanted to go home. And of course, she didn't quite understand when we told her that the party was closer than home at that point.

Once we made it to the party and Katie got out of the car, she was back to her normal fun-loving self. The party was a ton of fun, especially for the little ones. It was at a nice little park that was on a lake. The only drawback was that, because it was on a lake, it was very windy. The party balloons were blowing all over the place, even with those little weights attached to them, and unless you were standing in the sun, it was downright chilly.

Of course, the best part of the day was getting to spend time with my best friends and their little girls. I really wish that Ann lived closer to us so that our little girls could grow up together and be best friends just like we are. Maybe one day...

BTW, my camera's battery was dead, which is why I don't have any cute photos to share. If my BFF Michelle sends me the photos that she took today, I'll be sure to share them with you.

I know the park you mean - that's where they have the Day Out With Thomas every year. The park with the whole fenced in wooden play area? That place is ALWAYS so windy!! Glad you had fun!

I don't think this was the same place, Andrea. We were at Lake Idamere Park, and it was like All Persons with everything being wheelchair accessible, except it was WAY bigger with a lot more stuff. It was a really cool place.
