Alive & Kickin'
We're home from the hospital now, and Katie is just fine. We ended up not having to stay for the full eight hours because Katie's vital signs were holding steady and if she was going to have any effects from the meds, it would have started at least an hour or so before she was released. The doctor said it was unlikely that she had taken any pills, or that they just didn't have any effect on her. Either way, she was good to go.
It was a good thing that the doctor released her when he did, too, because both Katie and Phil were getting very antsy at that point. It was close to bedtime and Katie always gets a bit whiny around then.
Oh, and I forgot to mention in my earlier post that my mother had also neglected to feed Katie any lunch while she was at her house, so the poor baby was absolutely starving. Luckily, the doctor had told us that Katie could eat or drink anything she wanted while we were there, so I went to the cafeteria to get us all something to eat. I got us each a hot dog, and some milk, yogurt, and a Nutrigrain bar for Katie. Sadly, that wasn't enough to satisfy her hunger, so Phil ended up having to go to a vending machine to get her some cookies, too. The kid is like a bottomless pit sometimes.
Anyhow, long story short, we're home, Katie's fine, and now I must try to get some sleep. I have a big day of cleaning and purging ahead of me tomorrow.

Wow, how scary! I'm so glad she's okay!
So glad she's okay, Melodie!!! She must have angels watching over her! And I thought my day was long!
Oh Melodie! That is SO scary! I can't even imagine how worried you must have been. Thank goodness she's o.k. and you are home. What a night - what an ordeal! Yikes! Give her a big hug & kiss from us!
Oh thank goodness everything is alright! I'm sure your heart stopped (I know mine did!)! What a night! Give her an extra kiss!
wow, that is scary. I'm glad everything turned out ok. Hopefully, your mom will put her meds out of reach next time she watches Katie. Didn't they have child proof caps on the bottles? How did she get into them?
what the hell!? this isn't the kind of shit I like to read on your blog. I wish you would have called me! I'm glad katie is OK!!!!
Melodie,
I am glad that everything is fine.
Poor little baby, having to stay so many hours at the hospital and being hungry.
Oh well, the important thing is that nothing bad happened.
Marta Davis.
My mom's pills weren't in their bottles, they were in one of those weekly pill boxes. My mom said she didn't think that Katie would get into them because they were in a bag on her dresser.
Sorry, Michelle. I was trying not to make too many phone calls while we were at the hospital last night because every single time I got on the phone, a doctor or nurse would come into the room and I would miss half of what they had to say.
:( I understand that. I am just so glad she's alright.
Glad she's okay Melodie!! That must have been so scary. How's your mom doing now? I bet she was freaking out too!
Yeah, she was, although not enough to come to the hospital with us, which I thought was weird. The people at the hospital said that she should have come since it was her house and her meds.
But everything's okay, which is really all that matters now.
